K. Quincy Parker found himself a musician and composer through a series of unlikely events, but in retrospect it is clear that a musician and composer is exactly what he was destined to be. Beginning with a youth spent - as many youths are in The Bahamas - belting out Baptist hymns in church youth choirs, through the amazing MIDI revolution and up to the decision one month before enrolling in college to major in music instead of journalism, it is clear that music has been Quincy's calling all along.

As a side note, Quincy found himself a songwriter by a route very nearly as random. Quincy began his composition life by working in a MIDI studio with world-travelled percussionist Neil Symonette in The Bahamas. With no ability to play an instrument, Quincy was able to make music, and fell madly in love with the art, and grew more and more fascinated with the idea of writing songs "the other way." He bought a beat up old Hondo classical guitar that sounded really atrocious in retrospect, but at the time sounded magnificent [most likely because he didn't know what he was doing. He still doesn't. But we digress.]. So - the story - Quincy was sitting around with Suzette (his wife) and playing a very simple chord riff when Suzette suddenly looked up and said, "I think I have something for that." She sang a poem she'd written years before over the riff, and the song became "Elizabeth's World." And with that, Quincy Parker had written his first song.

Since then, Quincy has worked with singers from many different genres and backgrounds, produced both live and in-studio albums and written reams of music. He founded Black Pepper Music as a way to corral all his different energies under one umbrella.

Music is the emotional and intellectual layer that can create positive and necessary associations in your project. The right music, written and played the right way, can mean the difference between enjoyable but forgettable noise and instant and lasting brand- and name-recognition. Let's talk about your identity.
